A recent study* conducted on behalf of Canderel revealed new breed of 40+ women who are sexy, independent and self-assured.

Yes, these ladies are defying the traditional views of their generation. Now, not satisfied with staying in and only making sure the household chores are complete, they will be found in the local wine bar with friends, gossiping on the internet and just as likely to be dancing till dawn as attending regular coffee mornings.

With an independent and free-spirited attitude to life, many are totally confident and comfortable in their own skin. They are taking control of their lives and embracing getting older.

For them, life is delicious if cooking from scratch. The study also revealed over two thirds deem themselves as health conscious; with 15% never buying food without checking the calorie content and 1 in 4 now seeking out local produce. However, this healthy lifestyle is always complemented with pleasurable experiences, with over 85% revealing they enjoy indulging in sweet things.

Our recent study also revealed:

• Girl power reigns in the North West, with 61% of North West Ladies feel that they are taking control of their lives.
• In the North East, these women are found to be the most dutiful, with over a third thinking they should do what’s best for the family.
• 82% in the South West have become more conscious of their health recently, with 63% keeping it fresh and always on the search for locally grown produce.
• In the South East, women love being creative and cooking from scratch and are more concerned over their health than the current housing market.
• And finally for Londoners, despite hectic lifestyles, are more than satisfied between the sheets and don’t fear being alone.
